Just 3 miles away from Friston you will find the pretty coastal town of Aldeburgh. Aldeburgh High Street is the perfect place to dine, with it's first class restaurants and famous fish and chips. There are many shops selling local produce as well a a good selection of antique shops and Galleries. Whilst in Aldeburgh, take a walk along the coastline to visit Thorpeness.
The Pier at Southwold is renowned, situated on an award winning beach it has now been totally renovated. The town has a traditional market place, with some excellent town museums, with the lighthouse dominating the town's skyline.
Orford Castle dates back to the time of the Domesday Book. Henry II transformed the castle into a busy port protected by the unique polygonal tower-keep. |
