By car, Friston is about 3 miles off the A12. The nearest railway station is a few miles away at Saxmundham.

Trains from London and other locations connect with the branch line at Ipswich. There is a direct train from London to Ipswich. Change at Ipswich onto the Lowestoft Branch line and disembark at Saxmundham.

There are buses and taxis that can take you into Friston. Buses and booked taxis run from the station.
